Share the taxi. Split the fare.

Farepal finds people going your way at the same time, so you can ride together in one licensed taxi and split the meter fare.

To the airport, the train, campus, the city centre or home after a night out. Anywhere in Ireland, starting in Dublin.

Coming soon to Google Play and the App Store.

How it works

  1. Post your trip, or find one

Say where you’re starting, where you’re going and when. Trips that pass your way come first, with the smallest detour at the top.

  2. Ask to join

Request a seat with your own pickup and drop-off. The host sees your first name, photo and reliability record, then accepts or declines.

  3. Plan it together

Once you’re in, the group sees the pickup order and can chat in the app, call or WhatsApp. Everyone reconfirms before the deadline.

  4. Share the taxi

The host books a licensed taxi. You meet at the pickups, ride together and split the meter fare, equally unless you agree otherwise.

Private until you’re in, safe the whole way

Your details stay private

  • Before a host accepts you, people see only your first name, last initial, photo, reliability record and the area you’re travelling from.
  • Your exact address, phone number and email are shared only with the people on a trip you’re accepted on.
  • You can delete your account in the app at any time.

Built for sharing safely

  • Licensed taxis only. Offering a seat in a private car for money isn’t allowed.
  • Report anyone from their profile, a trip or a chat message, and block them so you never see each other again.
  • Everyone is 18 or older and agrees to the house rules.

In an emergency, call the Gardaí on 112 or 999.

Questions

Is Farepal free?

Yes. There are no fees and no payments in the app. You settle the taxi fare with your group yourselves.

Do you book the taxi?

No. The host books a licensed taxi the way they normally would, and the group splits the meter fare. Farepal only helps you find each other.

Where does it work?

Anywhere in Ireland, between any two places. We’re starting in Dublin, so that’s where you’ll find the most trips at first.

What if someone doesn’t show up?

Before each trip, everyone reconfirms they’re still going, so the group knows in good time. After the trip, people say whether the others showed up, and that goes on each person’s record for future hosts to see.

Who can see my address and number?

Only the people on a trip you’ve been accepted on. Everyone else sees the area you’re travelling from, never the exact address.

How old do I need to be?

You need to be 18 or older to use Farepal.
